Sarajevo is a unique and wonderful city because of its multi-cultural heritage. It is the largest city and the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo was founded by the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. A great diversity of culture, religions and civilization have been floating throughout this country through centuries. And as a result, Sarajevo has become the mixture of islamic, orthodox, judaic and catholic traditions. Ultimately, this city is called „Jerusalem of Europe”.
We would like to take you to this remarkable city and familiarize you with rich history of Sarajevo, its most impressive monuments as well as with its cosmopolitan atmosphere. During our tour you will discover the Old Town area with its cobbled streets and see all the highlights like Gazi Husrev-Bega Mosque, the Orthodox Church and Baščaršija – the old beautiful Bazaar from 15th century which was one of the most important trade centres in the area of Balkans. Afterwards, we will take you to another tourist attraction - the War Tunnel built in1993. It is a strong vestige of a tragic period in the modern history of Sarajevo. It was built during the Bosnian War in order to enable delivery of food, humanitarian aid and weaponry to Sarajevo during the siege of the city (1992-1996) from the areas which remained out of control of Serbian troops. We will also show you the short movie about war in Sarajevo.
