The Yugoslavian Wars started out in 1991 in Slovenia and finished with the end of the insurgency in Macedonia in 2002. The battles spread throughout the territory of the former Yugoslavia. In Bosnia and Herzegovina the battles have taken place in 1992-1995 and have left their mark on the whole country. In Mostar, most of buildings were destroyed during the Bosniak-Croat War in 1992-1994. Even nowadays, there are ruins of houses and public buildings which bring to mind this bloody period in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
